About the event
The Oxford Symposium on Literature and the Arts provides a dynamic international forum for scholars, researchers, educators, writers, artists, and practitioners to present papers and engage in thought-provoking discussions on literature and the arts. The Symposium welcomes research examining the theory, practice, history, interpretation, and cultural influence of literary and artistic expression across diverse genres, disciplines, media, cultures, and historical periods. Areas of inquiry may include literature, visual art, music, theatre, film, performance, digital media, interdisciplinary practice, and the relationships between the arts, education, society, and culture. Click here to explore our suggested topics.
We invite you to present your research and lead a discussion on a topic of your choice or to participate as an engaged observer. Proposed presentations should be supported by an abstract of approximately 250 words and approved by the Symposium’s Programme Committee.
Presenters are also encouraged to submit a full paper consistent with their approved abstract for possible publication in an appropriate academic journal or volume of conference proceedings. All papers considered for publication in a journal, book, or sponsored collection will be subject to independent peer review.
