    London Heathrow to Oxford

    Heathrow Airport is served by the Airline Coach service (blue and yellow buses) to and from Oxford.

    • Terminals 1, 2, or 3: Exit Customs and follow signs to the Central Bus Station. Airline coaches leave from Stand 15.

    • Terminal 4: Use the free bus transfer to Terminal 5.

    • Terminal 5: Airline coaches leave from Stand 10 at the arrivals concourse.

    Coach buses to/from Oxford run approximately every 30 minutes between 4:00 AM and 10:00 PM and less frequently during the night. A one-way fare costs £23; a period return (round-trip) fare, valid for one month, costs £30. Travel time is approximately 80-90 minutes, depending on your departure terminal and traffic conditions. Cash and contactless card payments up to £100 are accepted onboard; alternatively, tickets can be purchased online up to 12 hours in advance. The coach bus makes several stops in Oxford.

    Gatwick to Oxford

    Gatwick Airport is also served by the Airline Coach service to and from Oxford.

    • South Terminal: Follow signs to the lower forecourt. Coaches leave from Stands 1 and 2.

    • North Terminal: From Lower Forecourt Road, coaches leave from Stands 4 and 5.

    Coach buses to/from Oxford run approximately every 2 hours. A one-way fare costs £28; a period return (round-trip) fare, valid for one month, costs £37. Travel time is approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Cash and contactless card payments up to £100 are accepted onboard; alternatively, tickets can be purchased online up to 12 hours in advance. The coach bus makes several stops in Oxford.

  • Central London to Oxford

    Direct trains to Oxford leave from Paddington Station and Marylebone Station in London. Travel time is typically just over 1 hour. If booked well in advance, tickets can be significantly cheaper.

    There are also several bus companies operating routes between London and Oxford.

    Travelling in Oxford

    Once you have arrived in Oxford, there are taxis as well as two main bus companies operating within the city: Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach. In addition, as of 2021, Uber app users can use the platform to book a trip with 001 Taxis Oxford, whose drivers are licensed in the city.
