The Oxford Symposium on Religious Studies brings together scholars of religion from a wide background, both internationally and in terms of their specific religious interests. This allows for broad engagement and is different from narrow specialist conferences. The great majority of past participants have found this approach rewarding and professionally helpful.
Typically, our delegates hail from different faiths, and discussion is conducted with openness and mutual respect. We do not shy away from controversy, either, regularly thinking about religion and politics – how religion affects political life, for example, in the USA, UK, Israel, and Muslim fundamentalist states, and how to enable pluralism and tolerance between societies with clashing ideologies.
In an era marked by rapid technological advancement and shifting global markets, the future of education and industry depends on our ability to prepare innovative thinkers and adaptive leaders. Shaping the Future: Engineering, Technology, and Business in a Changing World brings together scholars, practitioners, and policy leaders to examine how emerging technologies, engineering breakthroughs, and evolving business models are reshaping education, industry, and society.
This interdisciplinary conference invites critical dialogue on reimagining curriculum, professional preparation, leadership strategies, and institutional priorities in response to accelerating change. Participants will explore how engineering, technology, and business education can equip learners not only with technical expertise, but also with the strategic insight, ethical judgment, and entrepreneurial mindset required to lead in complex, interconnected environments. Topics will span innovation and design, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, industry–academia collaboration, and the role of education in shaping the future workforce and global economy.
You are invited to make a presentation and lead a discussion on an aspect of Engineering, Technology, and Business, or you may wish to participate as a non-presenting observer. Your presentation must adhere to an abstract of about 200 words approved by the Programme Committee of the Symposium.
