Creative Cultures: Language, Literature & Arts
Oxford Symposia presents a special winter session on Creative Cultures: Language, Literature & Arts. A distinguished forum for the scholarly presentation and critical examination of the evolving intersections between language, literature, and the arts. For the purposes of the Symposium, the field of creative cultures is construed in an expansive sense, encompassing inquiries into language and cultural identity, the forces of globalization and technological advancement on linguistic practices, and the transformative roles of literature within historical, social, and gendered discourses.
The Symposium further invites exploration of the relationship between literature and technology, the function of the arts as vehicles for social commentary, and the processes of translation as mechanisms of cultural exchange. Contributions that investigate innovative methodologies in creative research are also encouraged, with an overarching aim to illuminate the enduring and emergent ways in which the humanities contribute to contemporary global dialogues.
